London.

‘‘That experience would be amazing,’’ Emma said.

She is the only one in her family with musical talent. Emma has been singing since she was five and was in competitions a year later.

Encouragement to consider singing as an interest came from her father, Darrin Jones.

‘‘Dad heard me singing in my room when I was five.’’ Six60’s upcoming concert has come with a reminder – don’t forget your mates.

‘‘The stars have aligned,’’ Senior Sergeant Craig Dinnissen said of tomorrow’s concert at Forsyth Barr Stadium.

That was because specialist alcohol teams from Canterbury and Southland would be in the city for a training exercise. The attention of the 30-strong force would turn to concertgoers before, during and after the event. That was likely to include students preloading near the stadium, Dinnissen said.

‘‘We will be . . . looking at the harm prevention we can encourage.’’

Last month, the Dunedin band made New Zealand music history when it played to a sell-out 50,000 strong crowd in Auckland.

Dinnissen urged concertgoers to ‘‘look after your mates’’.

‘‘Everyone wants to enjoy the night. If they are in the situation where they are in danger, it is up to you to step up and make the right choices for them.’’

Gates open from 5pm, with support acts including Jess B, SWIDT and Drax Project. The headliners are expected to take to the stage at 8.50pm.

About 17,000 fans are expected at the Dunedin venue.
