Event details

Big Rides Day is a much-loved family and community day, thanks to the huge number of local businesses and volunteers who come together to make it a success.

The whole event is held from inside the Agricentre at the Southern Fields Days site in Waimumu, with kids loaded onto rides from the doorways, making it an all-weather event. There is a huge range of ‘‘big rides’’, including: tractors, a milk tanker, stock truck, sileage chopper, tow truck, bulky truck… and much more. In addition to these rides, there is a variety of free activities inside the Agricentre – many stationary ‘‘rides’’ to climb on (quad bike, roller, tractors and more), big sandpits, music and more. Food and drinks are also available for sale. Parents/Caregivers please note: there is a strict adult-child ratio due to the obvious safety requirements.

One adult must accompany no more than two children under 10 years old. This is monitored and enforced at the gate and there can be no exceptions.
