Volunteers will be out collecting this Friday

-

Hospice Southland and their volunteers will be out on the streets of Invercargill, Te Anau, Queenstown, Winton, Gore, Bluff and Stewart Island on Friday 7th February for our 2020 Annual Street Appeal.

We’ve been your Hospice for over 27 years, please give generously when you see us - every dollar helps keep our services free. If you don’t have cash you can donate via our website. (www.hospicesouthland.org.nz)

This year we need to fundraise more than $2.5 million to keep our services free.

We depend on our community, as only half of our required funding comes from Government.

Each year across Southland more than 500 terminally ill people receive hospice care.

Hospice care supports adults and children living with life-limiting conditions to live life as fully as possible.

Its wide-ranging support includes medical care, wellbeing therapies, emotional support such as counselling and volunteer-led support, support for friends and carers as well as providing specialist support for GP’s, Hospital and Aged Care.

While we have a 6 bed in patient unit, most of our patients choose to stay at home, wo that’s where our teams of community doctors, nurses, counsellors and therapists provide their care.

Each year, demand for our services increases so we really need your support to be able to continue providing our free palliative care services for generations to come.

Hospice Southland and their volunteers will take to the streets of Invercargill, Te Anau, Queenstown, Winton, Gore, Bluff and Stewart Island on Friday 7th February for annual Hospice Street Appeal.
