Trapped during kitchen fire

Emergency services were called to a kitchen fire in Nightcaps yesterday where people inside the home were having difficulty getting out. A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said fire crews were called to the house on Johnstons Rd, near Dryfe Rd, about 3.25pm. The initial 111 call indicated people inside the house were struggling to get out, he said. About 3.40pm he said the occupants were being treated for smoke inhalation.
