Pāmu brings fresh talent into the boardroom

-

Pāmu has appointed award-winning agricultural leader Ash-Leigh Campbell as an associate director and observer on its board.

The 2020 Fonterra Dairy Woman of the Year brings first-hand experience of using technology in farming to the table.

The former Ngāi Tahu Farming technical farm manager had worked in the industry since she was a teenager. She started as a relief milker while she was in high school, and served as a chairperson of New Zealand Young Farmers for three years.

She currently works in the customer success team for Halter – one of New Zealand’s fastest growing agritech companies.

Pāmu Farms of New Zealand is the brand name for state-owned Landcorp Farming Limited.

Acting board chairperson Nigel Atherfold said the associate director role was created to give those with potential and ambition an opportunity to gain governance experience.

“It also provides boards with exposure to new talent, ideas, and experiences.”

While Pāmu had embraced digital technology to support its operations, it wasn’t being adopted by all farmers, Atherfold said.

“Ash-Leigh brings a first-hand understanding of how farmers and growers can benefit hugely from digital technologies and data availability for better decision-making on-farm.”
