Prices set for NZ-Peru match

-

New Zealand Football has set prices for tickets to the intercontinental playoff between the All Whites and Peru in Wellington on Saturday, November 11.

Adult tickets start at $59 per person, rising to $129 per person for platinum tickets. Children’s tickets start at $29, rising to $79 in the platinum zone for the match at Westpac Stadium at 4.15pm.

The return leg will be played in Peru’s capital, Lima, five days later. Ticket prices compare favourably to other major sporting contests in New Zealand this past year.

For the cheapest ticket to a match between the All Blacks and the British and Irish Lions, punters had to fork out $149, with prices rising as high as $449 per person. New Zealand Football chief executive Andy Martin said he hopes Westpac Stadium, which has a capacity of about 35,000 spectators, will be sold out.

‘‘The demand for tickets for this game has been incredible and we feel we have priced it at a level where all football fans can be a part of this one-in-four year event,’’ said Martin.

‘‘We want to re-create an atmosphere like 2009 (against Bahrain) with everyone dressed in white. We need all of New Zealand behind the All Whites as they look to create history and qualify for the FIFA World Cup.’’

Those on the Road to Russia waiting list can purchase tickets from 12pm Tuesday, while tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday at 12pm.
