This is a very good farming district with irrigation developmen­t in the area. It’s a great place to call home! There are Primary Schools at Waihao Downs and Glenavy, and secondary schooling opportunit­ies are available in Timaru, Oamaru and Waimate.

Ikawai/ Waihao Downs generally has a very mild climate with an annual rainfall of around 650mm.
