Expect delays, NZTA warns

-

The NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) is urging people to plan their journeys as the annual influx of Chinese New Year visitors arrive in New Zealand. A NZTA spokeswoman said people should build in time on their journeys, so if they are delayed for any reason, they don’t get stressed. The spokeswoman said people need to bear in mind many people are not familiar with New Zealand highways. She said people need to plan ahead and stay safe. ‘‘Get your vehicle checked before you head out, plan to avoid peak traffic when you can give yourself enough time to take plenty of rest or sightseeing breaks along the way.’’
