style too, scoring in the opening minute through Ravouvou.

With less than four minutes left, Australia found their first points, as Dylan Pietsch finished in the left corner. But New Zealand hit back swiftly to seal the game as Vilimoni Koroi cut through the defence on halfway and, instead of jogging in himself, gave the ball to allow Ngarohi McGarvey-Black to score.

Koroi then flew through a gap for one of his own straight after, then was sinbinned for a high tackle after the hooter, as John Porch scored a consolation try for the Aussies.

It was just the response New Zealand needed after being stunned by Spain.

There were no early signs an upset when New Zealand led 12-0 early, before tries either side of a Dickson yellow card for knocking a ball down sent the underdogs to the break ahead 14-12.

Still with a one-man advantage, Spain finished off a brilliant move, with Joan Losada spinning his way over, putting them up 21-12.

While Ravouvou whacked away a Spanish defender and coasted in, and Dickson finished in style in the left corner, it seemingly signalled a New Zealand comeback.

However, the determined Spanish side – who lost to New Zealand 19-7 last week – weren’t done, and scored a stunning try to Pol Pla to seal victory, as he scooted away and fed Losada, who made a great run down the left touch then offloaded back inside for Pla.

Earlier, New Zealand had been in great touch against France, with seven different players dotting down for tries.
