Caroline Bay set to rock and roll for Hospice

-

Put on your blue suede shoes, dress up and get ready to rock and roll. With dances and demonstrations happening all around town this weekend, there is fun for everyone, even those with two left feet, as Caroline Bay Rock & Hop swings into its third year.

‘‘The event keeps growing,’’ says South Canterbury Hospice marketing and events manage Jeanna Munro.

‘‘We’re blessed to have a great community behind our fundraiser.

‘‘Local hospitality has made all the difference to people repeatedly coming back and bringing their friends.’’

This Friday, March 15, rock and roll dancers will perform on Timaru’s Stafford Street from 4pm, before the big parade of cars cruising the main street at 6pm. Dancers will also perform in Temuka at the Rock and Stop street party.

Timaru will host one of the best party nights ever on Friday night with the SBS Bank Wear Your Parts Awards Party.

See contestants up close, vote for the outfit of your choice and afterwards party the night away to local band, The Art Of Cheese. Tickets are $30 and selling fast.

Other festivities include a party hosted by the Timaru Rock and Roll Club at the Landing Services Building, and a rock and roll dance at the RSA just up the road from Caroline Bay.

Show and Shine Gala Day

With lots of competitions and great support from sponsors, there are prizes galore to win at Saturday’s Show and Shine Gala Day in Caroline Bay from 10am4pm. Dress up and get into the spirit. Spend the day rock and rolling, drinking, eating and shopping. Watch the final of the Wear Your Parts Awards and the vehicle grand prize winners’ parade.
