Blackboard Concert: 7.30-10.30pm at the Geraldine Academy of Performanc­e & Arts on Talbot St. Come along and play to a live audience. Entry is $5.

Live music: 9pm-3am at the Factory Bar & Nightclub on Stafford St, Timaru. Christchur­ch drum and bass duo Catch-22 perform. Tickets are $20 and available through Cosmic Ticketing.

TOMORROW

Timaru Family Fest: 9am-12.30pm, 1.30-5pm at the Southern Trust Events Centre on Morgans Rd. Bouncy castles, face painting, disco tent, popcorn, candy floss, a coffee cart, and more. Tickets are $13 through Eventbrite, $18 at the door for children aged 2-17.

Spring Car Rally: 9am-5pm on various roads in the Waitohi, Fairlie and Albury areas. Rally hosted by the South Canterbury Car Club.

Waimate Community Market: 9amnoon at Seddon Square on Queen St. Fresh produce, flowers, plants, food, jewellery, clothing, and more.

Timaru Artisan Farmers’ Market: 9am-12.30pm near the Speights Ale House/I-Site on George St. Fresh seasonal fruit, vegetables, cheese, honey, eggs, meat, baking, and hot food and drink on sale.

Temuka Market: 10am-2pm in the Temuka town square on King St. Alpaca products, arts and crafts, coffee, and more.

Waimate Museum SC Anniversar­y Celebratio­n Day: 10am-3pm at the Waimate Museum & Archives on Shearman St. A new display in the courthouse building, market stalls, sausage sizzle, bouncy castle, rock painting, and more.

Live music: 7-10.30pm at the Geraldine Cinema on Talbot St. Ryan Neville and the Midnight Blues Band perform.

Tickets are $23 available from the band’s website.

Live music: 7.30-11pm at the Green Man at Peel Forest on Peel Forest Rd, Geraldine. Mid Canterbury singersong­writer Amelia James will perform. Tickets are $10 and available by calling 03 696 3567 or on the Green Man website.

Signs of Earlier: Noon-4pm Saturday and Sunday at the Aigantighe Art Gallery on Wai-iti Rd. Artist Iain Cheesman melds sculpture, painting, and language with a diverse range of materials including animal hide and plastic. Runs until October 18.

Alluring Shores: Noon-4pm Saturday and Sunday at the Aigantighe Art Gallery on Wai-iti Rd. Exhibition which draws from the gallery’s permanent collection. Runs until October 18.
