Bad weather likely to miss

South Canterbury is forecast to escape the worst of a severe weather watch issued for most of New Zealand over the next few days. A MetService forecast issued yesterday afternoon warned of heavy rain, snow to low levels and a strong wind watch with a complex low pressure system set to move east across the country. However, South Canterbury and the Canterbury high country is not listed in the numerous warnings with only the Canterbury Plains down for north-west winds that may approach severe gale.
