Storm misses Sth Canty

-

Parts of South Canterbury enjoyed some of the best weather in New Zealand as predicted stormy conditions bypassed much of the region. Timaru was relatively calm over Saturday and yesterday with just one millimetre of rain and a high wind gust of 46 kilometres per hour recorded. Further inland there was more rain and higher wind gusts, however, with Mt Cook Village recording 71mm of rain and a top gust of 122kmh about midnight Saturday while in Twizel the top gust was 80kmh but only 11mm of rain while Omarama had 12.4mm of rain and a top gust of 54kmh on Saturday.
