Police payout for Scott?

-

Canberra Raiders rugby league star Curtis Scott could be awarded up to $500,000 from NSW Police, if he pursues civil action after being tasered and pepper sprayed by officers on Australia Day weekend. Scott had an application granted on Friday for NSW Police to pay his legal fees, with the total bill amounting to more than $100,000. He is now set to take civil action against the officers involved and could pocket between $300,000 and $500,000, based on previous similar cases. The 22-year-old was initially charged with seven offences, including assaulting two police officers, after falling asleep in Moore Park following a night out at the Ivy nightclub. All the charges were later dismissed in court. He was handcuffed by police and left bruised after one of the officers allegedly hit him repeatedly in the back during the arrest.
