Geraldine Christmas Parade: 6.30-8pm at the Geraldine Domain on Hislop St. Starts at the corner of Hislop and Talbot streets. Santa’s lolly scramble follows the parade.

Motherhood the Musical: 7.30pm both nights at the Playhouse on Church St. The South Canterbury Drama League presents a Sue Fabisch play set around a baby shower with four friends. Pizza and icecream provided. Tickets are $40 and available through the iTicket website.

Saturday Live: 10am-noon in the Timaru CBD at Strathalla­n Corner. Live music, dress-up characters, classic car displays, children’s activities, and more.

Timaru Santa Parade: 1.30pm at Caroline Bay. Santa leads floats along Stafford St, down Loop Rd, and onto Caroline Bay where spectators can browse the Festival of Roses market and enjoy Caroline Bay Associatio­n rides.

In Reflection: Noon-4pm Saturday and Sunday at the Aigantighe Art Gallery on Wai-iti Rd. Exhibition of photograph­ic portraits taken by South Canterbury residents during lockdown. Runs until Sunday.

In Visible: Noon-4pm Saturday and Sunday at the Aigantighe Art Gallery on Wai-iti Rd. Exhibition by Timaru photograph­er Brian High. Runs until Sunday.

In a Strange Land: 11am-3pm Saturday, or by appointmen­t, at the York St Gallery of Fine Art. Work made from cast lead crystal, bronze, resin, ceramic, black basalt, and alabaster started by Timaru artist Debbie Templeton-Page during lockdown.
