Sailor sentenced to military detention

-

A navy sailor found guilty of sexually abusing two of his comrades while stationed overseas has been dismissed from the navy and sentenced to 20 months’ military detention. Able electronic warfare specialist Conrad LipaMcLean, 28, sexually violated and indecently assaulted two female colleagues in Canada in 2020. A panel of military members found LipaMcLean guilty of the two charges at the court martial retrial at Auckland’s Devonport Naval Base yesterday. Lipa-McLean put his head to his hands and wept after the verdict was read out. There were audible cries from his supporters in the gallery.
