BARBERSHOP: THE NEXT CUT: Comedy in which Calvin and his misfit team of barbers join up with the women’s salon across the street in a bid to save their businesses. Starring Ice Cube, Nicki Minaj.

CAPTAIN FANTASTIC: Comedy about a quirky dad and his six kids who live in the wilderness of America’s Pacific Northwest. Starring Viggo Mortensen, Frank Langella.

THE CONFIRMATI­ON: Comedy in which a down-on-his-luck carpenter must look after his eight-year-old son while the boy’s mother is away with her new husband. Starring Clive Owen.

DEEPWATER HORIZON: Drama which follows the real-life explosion of the Deepwater Horizon oil rig that caused North America’s largest-ever environmen­tal disaster. Starring Mark Wahlberg, Kurt Russell.

THE DAUGHTER: Drama in which a sawmill worker returns home to reconnect with his family, only to discover that a conspiracy is taking place. Starring Paul Schneider, Sam Neill.

EQUITY: Drama that follows an investment banker who is betrayed by one of her closest friends while trying to close the deal of her career. Starring Anna Gunn, James Purefoy.

THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN: Thriller, based on Paula Hawkins’ best-selling book of the same name, in which a divorcee struggling with the break-up of her marriage becomes entangled in a missing persons investigat­ion. Starring Emily Blunt, Luke Evans.

THE HAUNTING PROJECT: Also known as The Good Neighbour, this horror follows two high school boys who see more than they expected when they try to create the illusion that their neighbour is being haunted. Starting James Cann.

INFERNO: The third instalment in the Robert Langdon film series.

The latest outing has Langdon in hospital with amnesia and plagued by visions of a scorched earth. Starring Tom Hanks, Felicity Jones.

THE IT: High-tech thriller in which a man finds himself under attack from his IT adviser. Starring Pierce Brosnan.

MASTERMIND­S: Comedy in which a dim-witted security guard teams up with his female partner in a bid to pull off a robbery. Starring Zach Galifianak­is, Kristen Wiig.

MISS PEREGRINE’S HOME FOR PECULIAR CHILDREN: Action in which a boy discovers a school for children with special powers. Starring Eva Green, Asa Butterfiel­d.

PETE’S DRAGON: Action in which Disney’s 1977 movie of the same name gets a modern makeover ... and is filmed in New Zealand. It centres on the adventures of a young orphan and his best friend, a dragon. Starring Bryce Dallas Clark, Karl Urban.

THE WAIT: French drama in which a woman begins to form a connection with her son’s fiancee. Starring Juliette Binoche.
