TUESDAY

The Profit TVNZ 1, 9.30pm Entrepreneur Marcus Lemonis lends his expertise to struggling US businesses in an attempt to change their fortunes.

WEDNESDAY

Back Benches Prime, 9.30pm The general election is less than four months away and if you are interested in politics (and why wouldn’t you be?) then this local show is worth a watch. Filmed in a Wellington pub across the road from Parliament Buildings, it is where experienced broadcasters Wallace Chapman and Charlotte Ryan (above) grill a panel of MPs on various issues and seek the opinions of punters. Our only gripe is that it screens too late on a weeknight.

THURSDAY

James May’s Cars Of The People Prime, 7.30pm Motoring nut James May (above) waxes lyrical about, yep you guessed it, cars. This series looks at post-World War II automobile industries in Japan, Europe and in the US. Vrrrmmm! FRIDAY

The Graham Norton Show Three, 8pm A-lister Tom Cruise (above) promotes his film The Mummy while former teen heart-throb Zac Efron has the unenviable task of talking up the movie version of Baywatch. Call The Midwife TVNZ 1, 8.45pm The much-loved period drama about a group of bicycle-riding East End midwives never shies away from tricky subject matter and tonight is no exception when a couple with dwarfism are expecting a baby.
