Castle veteran now a rookie

Castle star Nathan Fillion (left) will star in and act as executive producer for a new police drama called The Rookie. The show, which has been given a series order by its network ABC, is inspired by a true story and follows John Nolan (Fillion), the oldest rookie in the Los Angeles Police Department working alongside cops 20 years younger than him. Alexi Hawley, who created the Katherine Heigl-led drama State Of Affairs, will write the new series.
