The disappearing ‘T’
Further to P. Wilton (TV Guide, March 15), language is a living thing, therefore it is always evolving. While I accept that change will happen, I am saddened that English seems to be evolving backwards. Take for instance, the letter “T”. It would seem to be disappearing, as in less than five minutes on TV I heard ‘responsibilidy’, ‘twenny’, ‘fighding’, ‘ardists’, and ‘exciding’, to mention but a few.
