Local lingo

Thank you, P. Wilton (TV Guide, March 15) for enlightening us about the correct pronunciation for our primate the orangutan. I enjoy such pieces of information. I guess some of us haven’t had a lesson in how to say some words. I am heading towards the twilight now in years and in all my years on the planet I have only now learned to say ‘Gizbin’. To me Gis-born sounds odd but I guess we should leave it to the locals to tell us how they want to pronounce it.
