Fast And Furious Three, 8.30pm Starring Vin Diesel, Paul Walker. It was savaged by critics, but this fourth entry in the action franchise based on boy racers’ dreams is sure to satisfy its core fan base – especially those who have been yearning to see the original cast reunited since The Fast And The Furious first blasted across cinema screens in 2001. Everyone else should definitely pass. ★★

Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen TVNZ 2, 8.30pm

Starring Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox. He did a good job of the first film, but grandstanding director Michael Bay goes completely overboard for this sequel, neglecting plot, dialogue and characterisation in favour of overwhelming special effects, turning a franchise dear to many into a caricature of its former self. ★★
