Who knew that a movie about a bear with an obsession for marmalade sandwiches would make for such a warm and wonderful experience once let alone twice? Yet this sequel is every bit as good as the first, if not better, thanks to the presence of Hugh Grant as the devious Phoenix Buchanan. Paul King treats us to a well-shot, fun, charming movie that lets us suspend disbelief and become part of Paddington’s world as our favourite bear from Peru is framed for theft and thrown into jail. This might be a kids’ movie but it is a hard-hearted adult who can’t love it, too.
