Cassidy Morris, Bravo’s first Kiwi host.
New Zealand model Cassidy Morris, 23, hosts Bravo entertainment show The Dish, which screens on Tuesdays and Fridays just before 7.30pm. She tells Sarah Nealon why she loves Neil Diamond, tennis and Jennifer Lawrence.
Tell us about your role on Bravo.
I am their very first (New Zealand) TV host. I have my show called The Dish which is me talking about what’s new, interviewing celebrities, what’s happening at the moment, what’s going on at Bravo.
What was going on in your life when you landed the role?
I had just moved back from the States. I’d been in LA for a year and I was doing some modelling and figuring out where I wanted to go because I had made the decision to move back to New Zealand. So at that stage I was mainly focused on modelling.
What did you do after leaving school?
I studied nutrition and got a diploma in that. I’m such a foodie. I love food. I’m always interested in health and benefits and all that goes around that. I then got into modelling and I was very lucky. I did quite well quite quickly. I was getting a lot of jobs and that’s when I decided, after doing that in New Zealand for a wee while, I wanted to go to LA.
What did you want to be when you were a child?
It would change weekly for me. I used to play tennis from a really young age. My whole family plays tennis so I definitely was like I’m going to be a tennis player when I’m older but that dream was short-lived.
Do you have any hidden talents?
I don’t know if this is a talent but I can move my ears without touching them. I can move them up and down and it freaks everyone out.
If a movie was being made of your life, who should play you?
I would love Jennifer Lawrence to play me just because I feel like I can be super sarcastic and quite funny and I think that’s definitely her personality so I think she’d do it quite well.
What is one thing people don’t know about you?
I have an obsession with vintage cars. I know that’s one thing people are surprised at. I’m such an old soul. Some of my friends are a lot older than me. I love old music like Neil Diamond.
