So tired of Coro Street time changes

-

Why can’t TVNZ 1 put MasterChef on at the 8.30pm timeslot and Coronation Street on at 7.30pm? I think most viewers who watch Coronation Street would like it back at the 7.30pm timeslot – the time it used to be on at many years ago. At least consider giving us one night a week of a not-so-late-hour episode of Coronation Street. Watching an hour episode at 9.30pm or 9.40pm is too late for those who have to get up early during the week. Not everyone is able to record the programme or be able to watch it online on TVNZ OnDemand as not all of us are as up with technology as you may think. Coronation Street is a very popular programme and has been for many years.

I am in bed, angry and very annoyed, as usual. Once again I’ve gone to sleep trying to stay up to watch Coronation Street. It has been too cold over the winter to stay up until 10.45pm to watch my all-time favourite show and I’m getting older so my eyes won’t stay open either. I am angry most of the week because TVNZ head programmer John Kelly thinks he knows what the people want. Well he doesn’t. He’s tampering with a programme tradition that goes back more than 50 years and has a lot of staunch followers. He is disappointing a lot of people and he’s not listening to any of us no matter what he says. Television is about the viewers and I’ve never seen any programme have as much support or complaint about the viewing time as Coro has had and yet still he doesn’t fix the problem. It’s the only programme that is tampered with in this way. It’s no wonder people are up in arms. I am sick of it, as are so many others.
