SATURDAY Rugby League: New Zealand v Australia Sky Sport 2 from 2.30pm

League-lovers tuck in your bibs because there’s a whole-day buffet laid out for you to enjoy. The action kicks off with the New Zealand Juniors up against their Aussie counterpar­ts followed by the women’s teams. At 7.15pm it’s time for the main course as the Kiwis take on the Kangaroos. Prime has the main game free-to-air at 10.40pm.

SUNDAY TVNZ 1, 4.55pm

You can’t escape Bradley Walsh on TV, but then why would you want to? Everyone’s favourite game-show host is back with another spin-off of The Chase. Four family members will line up to challenge the Chaser in the hopes of winning big.

Five Star Babies: Inside The Portland Hospital Vibe, 7.30pm

This series takes you inside the exclusive world of posh pregnancie­s at Britain’s only private maternity clinic. Parents, including celebritie­s such as Victoria Beckham and Lily Allen, pay an average of $NZ80,000 to have their babies at Portland Hospital. But the bill could be even bigger depending on the extras – lobster, foie gras and champagne are all on the maternity menu.

MONDAY Three, 9pm

The team deals with the aftermath of last week’s earthquake, in which entire neighbourh­oods were rippling in waves as though a tablecloth had been ripped out from underneath. As Bobby (Peter Krause, above) searches for victims in the rubble, Athena (Angela Bassett) deals with the fallout from a collapsed overpass.

Australian Survivor TVNZ 2, 8.40pm

It’s Champions v Contenders this season as average joes compete against people who are masters in their field. Among the Champions are Olympic medallists and profession­al sportspeop­le. The Contenders include a takeaway delivery driver and an interior designer. Hardly seems like a fair competitio­n but at least the Contenders’ island digs will be stylish.

TUESDAY The Great Kiwi Bake Off TVNZ 2, 7.30pm

Get ready for the flour to fly as New Zealand’s very own Bake Off emerges piping hot from the oven. Hosts Madeleine Sami and Hayley Sproull will keep the banter tasty while judges Dean Brettschne­ider and Sue Fleischl have the enviable task of judging the

scrumptiou­s treats.

The 2000s Prime, 8.35pm

This decadespan­ning documentar­y series continues its exploratio­n of modern times. Tonight’s episode looks at how the millennium sparked the birth of television’s ‘golden age’, with shows such as The Sopranos, 30 Rock and The Office.

The Looming Tower Prime, 9.35pm

Featuring great performanc­es from Jeff Daniels (above) and Tahar Rahim, this gripping series traces the rise of Al-Qaeda and explores

how the rivalry between the CIA and the FBI may have inadverten­tly led to the 9/11 attacks.

WEDNESDAY MasterChef Australia TVNZ 1, 7.30pm

After many weeks of competitiv­e cooking and many scenes of Matt Preston licking the tiny spoon he keeps in his pocket, we’re finally at the end of the very long MasterChef Australia road. The final two go head to head tonight, with one walking away the victor and $A250,000 richer.

In the third season of this cosy murder-mystery series, vicar Sidney Chambers (James Norton, right) struggles with his deeply unpriestly feelings for Amanda (Morven Christie).

THURSDAY HOMEmade TVNZ 1, 7.30pm

Weekend warrior Goran Paladin (right) returns with more home makeovers. This year the team is more ambitious than ever, trying to blitz two indoor spaces as well as sprucing up the garden in just two days.

MasterChef USA Prime, 7.30pm

For reasons unknown, the standard of cooking on MasterChef USA is often inferior to that of the Australian version. Perhaps it is because the only seasoning present on these dire dishes is the hot, salty tears of the contestant­s, extracted by shouty chef and host Gordon Ramsay.

Great Innovators: The Rise Of Australian Wine With Sam Neill National Geographic, 8.30pm

Actor, traveller and vintner Sam Neill walks us through the vineyards of Australia. He looks at how the Aussies helped popularise the screwcap and created one of the world’s most collectabl­e wines.

FRIDAY The X Factor UK TVNZ 1, 7.30pm

Surly starmaker Simon Cowell has a fresh new panel of judges this season but the same old V-neck T-shirt. Joining Simon is Robbie Williams, former X Factor contestant and One Direction member Louis Tomlinson, and Ayda Williams, who is probably better known as Mrs Robbie Williams.

7 Days — Spring Break Three, 9pm

Leap into spring with the 7 Days comedians as they celebrate their 300th episode with this frisky special.
