Open Season: Scared Silly

Voice Donny Lucas. Direct-to-DVD sequel but it deserved better. The plot centres around Boog the bear and Elliot the deer trying to catch the Wailing Wampus Werewolf. ★★★

Real MVP: The Wanda Durant Story

TVNZ 2, noon

Starring Cassandra Freeman. Inspiring tale of Wanda Durant, the single mother of NBA star Kevin Durant. ★★★★

Infamous Three, 12.05pm Starring Madison Iseman, Danielle Macdonald. After a teenager dies, one teen basks in the attention while another seeks to uncover the truth behind the tragedy. ★★★

The Swap Three, 2.05pm Starring Peyton List, Jacob Bertrand. Two teenagers swap lives and bodies but find things are not always better. ★★

Alvin And The Chipmunks: Chipwrecked Three, 4pm Starring Jason Lee. None of the three live-action Chipmunks movies has been that great. For under-8s. ★★

Honey: Rise Up And Dance Sky Premiere, 8.30pm Starring Teyana Taylor. High-energy movie about a street dancer who tries out for the same group as her classically trained sister in a bid to win a college sponsorship. So-so plot but great choreography. ★★★ Trainwreck Three, 8.35pm Starring Amy Schumer. Amy Schumer plays a commitment-phobic journalist who is forced to rethink her stance on monogamy when she falls for the sports doctor she is interviewing. ★★★★

Made Of Honour Bravo, 8.30pm Starring Patrick Dempsey. Bearing striking similarities to My Best Friend’s Wedding, this is a typically Hollywood rehashing of that old romantic comedy stand-by in which two platonic best friends realise they’re meant to be together – or one of them does. ★★

The House Bunny

TVNZ 2, 8.45pm

Starring Anna Faris. Lightweight but watchable comedy about a bunny girl who is thrown out of the Playboy mansion for being too old, leaving her to struggle with life in the ‘real’ world. ★★★
