Who changed the Doctor appointment?

-

Why did TVNZ 2 make the ridiculous decision to take Doctor Who off Friday nights and leave it on Monday mornings? I know this episode is straight from Britain but I can’t watch it on Monday at that time of the morning and I can’t record it either so what am I to do?

Annoyed Fan (Tauranga)

Doctor Who fans have been waiting for a year for new episodes and now TVNZ removes it after one episode. I suppose the response will be the same standard, stock, unimaginative answer we always get from TVNZ – “Not enough viewers so we took it away”. Honestly, do you really think we want to watch more reality rubbish? I understand that we can watch it on TVNZ OnDemand but even with fibre, buffering truly takes away the pleasure of watching. Roll on the DVDs.

I am an 11 year old boy and have only been watching Doctor Who since Jodie Whittaker became the latest Doctor. I am wondering whose decision it was to leave the viewing time at 9am on Mondays when the majority of viewers are at school. Will you be repeating Monday’s programme?

CM (Northland)

TVNZ responds: We’ve been fast-tracking Doctor Who and making it available to view on TVNZ 2 and OnDemand (9am Monday) as close to the UK as possible and a large number of New Zealanders are opting to watch these over the later Friday broadcast. The show is also available to watch on Saturday afternoons on TVNZ 2, so viewers still have the opportunity to enjoy Doctor Who at multiple times across the week, both on air and OnDemand.
