Making lots of noise about Spy Wars

How right are those complainants about the level of noise/music on TV shows. It, sadly, is happening in every form of broadcasting including docos and movies. I was keen to watch Damian Lewis’ series Spy Wars (TVNZ Duke). I tried twice and had to turn the show off.

I am really interested in spy stories but couldn’t handle the intrusive sound. I have just been listening to a Radio NZ programme about spies – same thing. This is not only relative to New Zealand shows. Some great British series are also imploding with noise. It’s a fashion/fad and one just wishes that some producers would be brave enough to take a stand and say ‘No, or minimal, incidental music’.
