Whakaari: A Heroes’ Story

Commemorating the one-year anniversary of the devastating eruption of Whakaari/White Island, this documentary tells the story of the rescue mission. Two young pilots recount their efforts to ferry survivors from the crater lake and how they broke official orders in doing so. Scientists also explain why the eruption was not predicted, despite years of monitoring the volatile volcano.

The final survivors pack away their last grains of rice and one-ply leaf-based toilet tissue as this All Star season comes to a close. Tonight, the jury casts votes to determine which returning player will win $A500,000.
