Aussie cops set high standards

What a great Australian programme is Motorbike Cops (TVNZ 1, Monday). How well organised these guys are at controlling safety on the roads. Travelling in pairs, all decked out in the appropriate gear and on powerful motorbikes, weaving in and out of the traffic, pulling over the many motorists and bike riders breaking the rules on the roads and keeping law and order. No excuses, tickets are issued and matters dealt with appropriately. Why do we not have that method of policing in New Zealand? It is beyond belief and sad that there are hardly any police on our roads any more. Our roads are now death traps with so many drivers breaking the law and with no regard for others. How wonderful and comforting it would be to see these motorbike cops here. Their presence would probably halve the death toll. It is a rare sight now to see even one police car sitting on the side of our roads. The driving in this country is appalling. Bring those motorbike cops here please.
