Loyal customers keep coming back

-

Local workshop Murray Motors (trading as P E Crook Mechanical) really value the relationships they build with clients. ‘‘Our relationships with our customers matters to us and our loyal, satisfied customer base who come back to us time and time again, is a source of pride to us,’’ owner Murray Dickens says.

‘‘Four of our regulars who are now in their eighties, have recently stopped driving. We know that has been hard for them, but it will all work out. We will miss them and want to thank each one for the trust they have placed in us over many years, their loyalty to us and the contact we have had with them means so much,’’ he says. ‘‘ Murray Motors has been continuously servicing vehicles for numerous customers for over 25 years straight and currently works on cars for up to three generations of some families. ‘‘Servicing vehicles isn’t just a job to us, it is a way of life and something we love doing,’’ Murray says. ‘‘We think that people keep coming back to us for 25 years straight is a good indication we are doing a good job for them.’’ Murray and his team are also proud that customers value what they do so much that they bring their vehicles from as far away as Gisborne, Taihape and Wairarapa, for mechanical repairs and servicing.

‘‘We have some great customers and have been privileged to meet so many amazing people, to get to know them and their lives,’’ he says. ‘‘We do our best to be honest and up front and provide good old fashioned service. Getting to know our customers and their vehicles helps them receive the best service, we get to know their cars and what makes them perform best.

Peter and Anne Crook and Dennis Smith started P E Crook in 1982. When Dennis passed away shortly after, Murray (then working at another Upper Hutt workshop) was approached and asked to join the team, meaning he has been working with customers since the beginning of P E Crook Ltd. Murray took over the business in 2005, later re- branding as Murray Motors.

Murray and his team, Johnny Veneberg (16 years at P E Crook); apprentice mechanic Josh Wickens; part time mechanic, Trevor Beard and office assistant Andrea Dickens, are committed to keeping customers vehicles well serviced and running smoothly. They work on all makes and models of private and trade vehicles and have a special talent and interest in keeping older vehicles up and running in tip top condition. In any one week they will service a whole range of vehicles from near new to vintage – last week for instance – work included a 2013 Peugeot, a 1927 Chrysler, an Armstrong Siddeley, MG sports car, 1966 VW Combi, 2005 Ford Falcon and more. They do WOF checks and between WOF checks.

Despite being busy with long standing customers, Murray Motors, welcomes new business. They recommend regular servicing to stop little problems becoming big problems.
