World tour in jokes

-

First there was Around the World in 80 Days and now it’s around the world in 195 jokes - one for each sovereign state.

Ben Hurley is coming to Expressions Whirinaki with his Earth Planet World show. Taking off on Saturday March 18, the show is an hour long and contains a marathon of jokes, one about each country.

From Afghanistan to Zimbabwe, Hurley will be delivering his jokes in the Gillies Group Theatre at the art gallery.

The show first premiered at the Fringe Festival in Wellington last year and was the 7 Days comedian’s first solo show in two years.

Since then, he has taken it all around the country. Expect some improv at the show along with a little bit of audience participation in the form of songs.

The comic made his start in comedy more than 15 years ago.

He started performing as a stand-up comedian in clubs like the old Indigo bar in Wellington and worked alongside other Kiwi comedians such as Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement of Flight of the Conchords.
