It’s not over until the fat lady sings

- STAFF REPORTER

It’s never over until the fat lady sings, as the members of the Little Grimley Amateur Dramatic Society are about to find out.

The Heretaunga Players are back with their first show of the year, The Fat Lady Sings in Little Grimley.

In 2015, the theatre troupe took on both Last Tango in Little Grimley and Last Panto in Little Grimley and are looking forward to being back in the fictional village. This time around, the cast will take on the roles of Little Grimley Amateur Dramatic Society actors.

With only four members left of the amateur group, things are looking grim.

A rival am-dram group has set up shop in their town and it looks like the newcomers might upstage them by putting on an award-winning musical.

Gordon, played by Andrew Tait, is the pretentious chairman of the group and leads them, only because the rest have less of a clue than he does. Margaret, played by Heather O’Brien, thinks she’s the star of the show while Joyce, played by Janet Beams, is the sensible peacemaker in the group.

The final am-dram member is Bernard, played by Greg Judd, the member who tries - and often fails - at whatever he attempts.

Together, the four pull together a plan to take down their rivals.
