Could you be a parliamentary youth MP?

-

Jan Tinetti, Labour List MP based in Tauranga and Labour’s buddy MP for the Coromandel Electorate, is looking for a Youth MP to work with her as part of the 2019 Youth Parliament.

Jan said she is looking for a talented local person who would enjoy the experience of being in Parliament and who would like to be a voice for young people.

“I think it is a very exciting opportunity. It’s something I would have liked to have done when I was young” she said.

Youth aged between 16 to 18 years (on October 19), living in the Tauranga or Coromandel Electorates, active in the community and passionate about youth issues, politics and social change are encouraged to apply.

Any applicant also needs to be able to attend the Youth Parliament next year on July 16 and 17, 2019 and be able to commit to the Youth MP tenure from March 1 to August 31, 2019.

“People can apply by sending me a two-minute video or onepage letter stating why they are the right person to represent the youth of the electorate, how they would make New Zealand a better place and what they believe are the key issues or matters of interest for young people in New Zealand,” Jan said.

“I am so delighted to be in the position to offer this opportunity to a young person in our community” Jan said.
