Toilets reopen

Paeroa Domain public toilets are now open seven days, 6am to 9pm since last Thursday. Hauraki District Council closed the facility a few months ago as it was prone to vandalism, adding to the annual maintenance expenses of around $15,000. The community provided feedback on a cheaper solution to the Council’s proposal to replace the ablution block with an Exeloo-type facility, with an estimated price of around $190,000. Council said it will work with the community to explore other options and look at the location of public toilets across the whole town.
