Yes folks, the UK’s best loved comedian, the venerable Mr Bill Bailey is making a most welcome return to our shores and is performing shows at Claudelands Arena in Hamilton and Baypark Arena in Mount Maunganui.

Even better, we have a double pass up for grabs for his Claudelands Arena show on Monday, September 24 so you can witness first hand the comedic genius that is Bill Bailey.

The UK’s very own stragglehaired polymath (a person of wide knowledge or learning!), Bill Bailey, comes armed with his new comedy and music extravaganza, Earl of Whimsy. Earl of Whimsy will have Bill’s trademark blend of satire and surrealism, stories and dismantled jokes, crowd sing-alongs, weird instruments and musical showstoppers. But there’s a distinctly historical feel to this show. With its tales of Britain’s fortunes past and present, of ancient Viking battles, of Shakespeare’s contribution to comedy, and Bill’s own ancestry, this is both a mockery and a celebration of national identity.

Bill Bailey is a legendary comedian, musician and actor most well-known for his brilliant live shows Dandelion Mind, Tinselworm, Bewilderness, Part Troll, Qualmpeddler and Limboland plus his work on television in programmes such as Never Mind the Buzzcocks, QI and ABC TV’s award winning Black Books.

In his diverse and celebrated career, Bill has performed at major music festivals such as The Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival where Rolling Stone magazine named this revolutionary entertainment experience one of the 50 moments that changed the history of rock and roll.

2018 will see Bill developing more ideas for film and television with his own production company, Glassbox Productions, who are responsible for bringing to the screen Tinselworm, Bill Bailey’s Remarkable Guide to the Orchestra, Dandelion Mind and Qualmpeddler.

Not before he wows you with Earl of Whimsey though! Be in quick, his shows always sell out! Tickets from Ticketek
