Scare for Team NZ
Team New Zealand survived an alarming nose-dive in high winds during their latest training session in Bermuda. The Kiwis were venturing out of the harbour to the training zone on the Great Sound when a gust they estimated to be 24.3 knots caught them unawares. ‘‘Not the ideal way to exit a tight harbour in 24.3 knots! Nose dive! We will have another shot at it tomorrow,’’ the team said. Fortunately all the crew, including the four cycling grinders, were riding high in the windward hull and escaped submersion.
