Huntly College principal

-

The saga of Tim Foy continues to portray a man who had the backing of the community he was called to serve, in his role as principal of Huntly College. Despite the apparent lack of endorsement from the ‘‘suits’’ (ERO and MOE), he clearly is affirmed in this role by the article by Donna-Lee Biddle. Student achievement can be measured in many ways and the ‘‘suits’’ simplistic approach, fails to grasp what was really happening amongst the learners of Huntly College. Karl Lapwood’s comments that Huntly College has turned out a lot of good people who are skilled tradespeople, who have good jobs and have contributed tremendously in giving back to the community that has nurtured their learning, is evidence of the college’s success.

Tim Foy had a vision and a commitment to do his very best for the college he was called to lead. What is great about this article is that the real judgment of Huntly College does not lie with the ‘‘suits’’, but with the community that clearly affirms what was really happening at Huntly College.

Hamilton they want us to get home safely. By the time they pick up the 50,000 cones, it’s lucky if they get home by midnight.

On Cambridge TA road I come across signs, cones, ‘‘roadworks’’ 30km more cones. Oh wait, it’s road works up a side road, 100km again. Then more signs just down the road, more road cones, 100km again.

For the love of all that’s holy, do they think we are all Hayden Paddon taking a 90-degree corner at 130km and wouldn’t see even more signs and cones up the side road if we went up it. Do we have to be treated like the biggest morons on the planet? ‘‘I don’t believe it.’’
