Dog attacks owner

A Porirua woman received serious head, face and body injuries after her pitbull dog attacked her in her own home. Another family member in the house in Porirua was attacked by the dog last week and suffered defensive injuries on both his forearms. He also sustained a bite wound to his leg (pictured above) in the attack yesterday as he went to the woman’s aid about midday. Minutes before the attack, the woman – in tears – had been discussing how the dog should be put down, to protect the safety of the family, which includes young children. The dog is understood to have been put down.
