The man accused with the murder of twoyear-old Arnica Savage can now be named as Tewi Daniel Savage. The 32-year-old was given name suppression until Arnica’s funeral which ended on Wednesday. Arnica was found dead in the Rangitaiki River after being reported missing by family on July 1. Savage was arrested the same day by police with murder charges promptly laid. He pleaded not guilty at the High Court in Rotorua on July 4. Arnica’s death left the close-knit village of Te Mahoe in shock. Caroline Abraham, from the local Te Mahoe school, previously said that the school community was supporting the family in the tight-knit village. Savage is due to appear for a case review hearing on September 5.
