Robbers on camera

-

Hamilton police are looking to identify two men who robbed a Domino’s armed with hammers. The pair wearing dark clothing entered the pizza takeaway on the corner of Te Rapa Straight and Bryant Rd around 9.15pm on Sunday. Armed with hammers, they smashed the till monitors before stealing the cash till. The one staffer in the restaurant at the time was uninjured, Detective Mike Handley of Waikato police said. After taking the till the pair fled the shop on foot to a vehicle police believe may have been parked behind the Domino’s at the new development of shops. Handley said the till was found abandoned on an alleyway on Bryant Rd, not far from the store. It was likely the men ran through the alleyway to a waiting vehicle. The main culprit is described as being of slim build, wearing a black, possibly two-tone, dark grey hoodie, black track pants and black shoes with white trim. He is about 1.6- to 1.7-metres tall. The second offender is described as being of more solid build, wearing a blue hoodie, black pants and white shoes. He’s about 1.8 metres tall. Police are looking to speak with anyone who might know who these two are, or have been in the Te Rapa Rd/Bryant Rd area at that time on Sunday evening. If anyone has any information call Hamilton police, asking for Constable Justin Hamilton on 07 858 6200. Information can also be left anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
