Girl in serious condition
A child has been taken to hospital after a near drowning on the Firth of Thames. Emergency services were called to a location on Front Miranda Rd at 1.05pm yesterday. A St John spokesperson said two ambulances and a first response unit attended, arriving at 1.18pm. A girl, only described as a child, was transported to Middlemore Hospital in Auckland in a serious condition, she said. A police spokesperson said they had no information on the incident.
