Arts in the park

A Huntly park will be the place to try mosaics, flax weaving, beading and clay art next weekend. Arts in the Park will give locals a chance to try various types of art, and will also include performances and food stalls. It’s a showpiece for an arts development programme and ongoing work to rejuvenate parts of the town centre, Waikato District Council said. Council’s animal control team will also take popular black Labrador cross Kohe to the event. The programme is run through the Huntly Friendship House in partnership with Waikato District Council, Huntly West Hub, local schools, groups, artists and volunteers. It will run 10am-2pm in Fraser Park, on Saturday, February 16.
