Horse power of another kind takes centre stage

Visitors from over New Zealand and around the world will attend the 2019 New Zealand National Arabian Championships at Showfields Equestrian Centre, Hampton Downs to watch the best Arabian horses from around the country being judged by Cindy Reich from the USA. On the weekend of February 16-17, the event will happen as part of the World Arabian Horse Organisation conference. Reich grew up on her family’s Arabian horse farm in Boulder, Colorado in the USA. She went on to judge on the livestock and horse judging team for Colorado State University and was also national champion individual youth judge at the US Arabian Nationals several times. This will be her first visit to New Zealand. The show is held over two days, with the breed halter classes on Saturday and the performance classes – including the Arabian costume class – on the Sunday. Entry is free and coffee and food will be available on site. The day starts at 8.30 am.
