A couple of weeks ago I wrote about the argot of the US infecting New Zealand. Friends have since pointed out, in thekindest possible way, that I am seeing what is not really there. In the Header for the

today 27 Feb there were these six words. Smokin’ Hot Chow Down on Corn’’. . . NZCM is back!

Just look at this line-up for

The first thing you will see is that there are only four NZ Chamber Music concerts at the Gallagher this year.

Why? Because last year you, yes YOU! you with the appreciati­ve ears, brought no new friends to increase the size of the audiences.

Without the most generous of patrons, and they give more to sport than the arts in this Waikato paradise, or whacking good audiences, NZCM can’t afford to bring more concerts here. So, when you come to the wonderfull­y wacky Baroque Bohemians, whose stagecraft matches their irreverent­ly addictive musiciansh­ip, you will have brought your friend(s) to an experience they will never forget, and love you for it!
