Guests from Hawkes Bay

Guest artists at this Saturday’s Te Awamutu Country Variety Club are multi-award winners Rae Carton and Lance Pene from hawkes Bay.

Rae is from Hastings and began her singing 10 years ago. Her two passions are her family and her music.

She was part of the duo Aralane early in her career then ventured into entering awards — winning many and enjoying the friendships she made along the way.

She says being involved in country music and appearing in shows and as a country music club guest around the country is a great way to meet people.

Rae has a fantastic range of songs, which she will be sharing this Saturday.

Lance lives in Napier and loves singing country and playing his steel guitar.

In 2009 Lance entered the Gore Country Music Awards and won the 40 plus section.

He is well known around the country for his wonderful leatherwork.

In his early career Lance appeared on the Valray Country show at the Eltham Town Hall and was an instant hit singing the songs of Charlie Pride, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard etc.

With his laid back style Lance captures the audience the moment he walks on stage.
