By the time they run out at 1300SMILES Stadium in the last of today’s three NRL games, the Warriors could be down to 10th. Facing the Cowboys doesn’t make for good reading, even though they have lost their last three and need this one to have a shot at a top four finish. This is the only battle between the Warriors and Cowboys this regular season but there is no comfort for the Warriors in looking back. They went down 28- 24 in round seven last year and were thumped 50- 16 in Townsville as the home side warmed up for their title charge. A limp effort against the Bunnies last weekend gives no real hope either for a team who simply didn’t punch their tickets at the gate. Other key games have the Titans at Newcastle in today’s early game and later the Sea Eagles at home to the Storm. A win for the Dragons over the Roosters tomorrow would further dent the Warriors’ hopes. There are big games later in the week as the Bulldogs host the Cowboys and the Storm play the Broncos.
