Hot hatch Barina sizzles

Holden Barina R Holden has launched a limited- edition Barina R hot hatch, available late this month. The new model is equipped with a 1.6 litre DOHC16- valve 4- cylinder engine, mated to a six- speed automatic gearbox. It features 17- inch alloy wheels, a bigger RS rear roof spoiler, front fog lamps, and, the decorative icing on the cake, Barina R decals in matte black.

The managing director of Holden New Zealand, Kristian Aquilina, said safety was boosted by the inclusion of a rear- view camera, while MyLink infotainment projected on the seven- inch colour touch- screen enhanced connectivity with the ability for hands- free calling and smartphone app integration.

The recommended selling price is $ 21,990 plus on- road costs.
