IndyCars, tomorrow 1pm. F1, tomorrow 10.30pm.

There’s a short turnaround for the Indycars as they are in the desert for the Desert Diamond West Valley Phoenix Grand Prix in Avondale, Arizona, ready to again race under lights. Scott Dixon won here a year ago after a return to the Phoenix International Raceway following a 10- year hiatus. He led for the last 155 ( of 250) laps. A solid start to the season, including second to Josef Newgarden less than a week ago, has Dixon in second place after three rounds, just six points behind early pace- setter Sebastien Bourdais. This one- mile low- banked track is particularly hard on tyres, which will again be a factor. The F1 train has stopped at the Sochi Autodrome for round four. The first Russian GPs were held in 1913 and 1914 but not again until 2014, when Lewis Hamilton won and repeated the following year. Last year, it was a Nico Rosberg benefit, as he took pole, recorded the fastest lap and led every lap as he beat Hamilton and Kimi Raikkonen. Sebastian Vettel leads the 2017 championship by seven points from Hamilton heading into the 53- lap, 310km race.
